National Merit Semifinalist 2024 Maryland Basketball. In fall 2023, we announced the commonwealth seniors who were recognized as 2024 national merit® scholarship program semifinalists, along with those receiving national merit letters of commendation. The semifinalists will compete nationally for scholarships that will be announced in the spring.

Becoming a national merit semifinalist is the first step toward potentially earning a national merit scholarship. These are not final cutoffs, but are predicted based on extensive research and data.
